Right to left (RTL) support on Agent Desk
RTL feature enables the Agent Desk to dynamically adjust layout and component alignment when the language is switched to an RTL (Right-to-Left) language such as Urdu or Arabic.
When a user changes the application’s language to an RTL language (Urdu or Arabic), the layout automatically adapts to ensure proper usability and alignment.
This change impacts multiple UI components, reversing their alignment, text flow, and control order to match RTL reading patterns.
The feature ensures a consistent and intuitive experience for users of RTL languages, while still supporting LTR (Left-to-Right) languages without layout issues.
RTL Layout Changes
When an RTL language is selected, the following changes occur:
Component | Description of change |
---|---|
Customer Info Bar | Customer Info Bar moves from the right side of the screen to the left side of screen. |
Conversation List | Conversation List sidebar moves from the left side of the screen to right. |
Composer | The control positions inside the composer invert their direction, and the text input field changes text direction from LTR to RTL. |
Menus | The direction of menus and dropdowns in app header and interactions view changes from LTR to RTL. |
Bot Suggestions/ Canned messages | Layout of bot suggestions and canned messages is changed to RTL including their controls. |
Language Direction Switching
The application monitors the selected language setting.
When the selected language is Urdu or Arabic, RTL layout rules are applied automatically.
Switching back to an LTR language (e.g., English) restores the default LTR layout.
