Release Summary |
Adds PostgreSQL as a supported database alongside Microsoft SQL Server. For Cisco UCCE and UCCX deployments, Media Recordings now captures wrap-up codes and call variables with each new call, adds new search filters and call tagging, and supports MP3 downloads. Users can rearrange the recordings table and switch to a dark theme, and on UCCE, large result sets load page by page. Administrators control who can download recordings and export recording data through dedicated roles. |

Add PostgreSQL Database Support
Supports PostgreSQL 14+ and later for recording data and user management, alongside Microsoft SQL Server 2019–2022. Organizations can choose the database that fits their infrastructure and licensing. PostgreSQL is the recommended option for new Cisco deployments, and existing SQL Server customers can migrate to it. Schema scripts are provided for both engines ( |
Media Recordings
Feature(s) |
Description |
|---|---|
Media Recordings offers new filters for call direction, call duration, wrap-up code, call variables and tags, plus partial-value and wildcard search. These work alongside the existing date, time, and agent filters. Administrators can find specific recordings without scrolling through long result lists. |
VRS retrieves the wrap-up code and call variables (Call Variable 1–10) from Cisco shortly after each call ends and stores them with the recording. This applies to calls made after the upgrade. Users can see each call's outcome in the recordings list and search by wrap-up code or by call-variable value, such as an account or case number. |
Administrators create and maintain a list of tags, and authorized users assign one tag to each call, including all legs of a multi-leg call. Media Recordings shows each recording's tag and can filter by it. Teams can group recordings for quality review or compliance, and administrators decide who can view tags and who can assign them. |
Users can now download recordings as MP3 as well as WAV. MP3 files are smaller and play on most devices, which makes recordings easier to share and store. |
On UCCE, Media Recordings loads results one page at a time, showing 10, 25, or 50 records per page, with the total number of matching recordings shown above the list. Large searches open and page quickly, and exports still include every recording that matches the search, not only the current page. |
Users can reorder columns by dragging them and switch the interface to a dark theme; both choices are remembered between sessions. The player adds volume, mute, and playback-speed controls. Users can arrange the list and review calls in the way that suits how they work. |
Role-based Access Control
Feature(s) |
Description |
|---|---|
Downloading recordings and exporting recording data to CSV each require their own role, separate from viewing recordings. Administrators can limit who can take recordings and call data out of VRS. After upgrading, assign the download and export roles to users who need them; users without these roles cannot download or export. |
