Release Summary

Limits Operations Dashboard metrics to a supervisor's own team, matching Media Recordings. Adds opt-in Informix CRA data enrichment for UCCX, with formal UCCX testing. Adds configurable recording compression and extends archival to S3-compatible cloud storage (SFTP or S3 / MinIO / Wasabi)

Upgrade Guide

VRS Upgrade Guide from 14.11.0 to 14.12.0

✨ New in VRS 14.12.0

This minor release builds on VRS 14.11.0. It limits Operations Dashboard scoping with Media Recordings for supervisors, adds opt-in UCCX Informix CRA enrichment with formal UCCX testing, adds configurable recording compression, and extends archival to S3-compatible cloud storage.

Operations

Feature(s)

Description

Scope Operations Dashboard Metrics to a Supervisor's Own Team

Operations Dashboard now shows supervisors' metrics only for the agents on their own team, matching how Media Recordings already works. Administrators continue to see metrics for every agent across the tenant.

This gives supervisors a dashboard that reflects their own team's activity instead of the whole contact center, making it easier to spot issues without sifting through unrelated data. If a supervisor's team membership isn't set up correctly, the dashboard shows no data rather than exposing other teams' metrics.

UCCX enrichment

Feature(s)

Description

Enable Informix CRA Data Enrichment for UCCX

VRS can now pull wrap-up codes, queue names, hold time, and call variables from Informix CRA for Cisco UCCX deployments that use it. This is an opt-in setting; it stays off until you turn it on.

UCCX customers running Informix CRA get complete, accurate wrap-up and call-variable data on their recordings instead of missing or incorrect values. Customers not using Informix CRA, or running UCCE, are unaffected and do not need to change anything.

Storage and compression

Feature(s)

Description

Add Configurable Recording Compression

Call recording file size can now be adjusted through a simple setting, with a choice of three compression levels instead of one fixed option.

Customers who need smaller recording files to save storage space can choose stronger compression, while those who prioritize audio quality can keep the previous setting. The change applies only to new recordings made after the setting is updated.

Extend Archival to S3-Compatible Cloud Storage

Recording archival now supports S3-compatible cloud storage, such as Amazon S3, MinIO, or Wasabi, in addition to the existing SFTP option.

Customers can choose the storage destination that fits their environment, on-premises SFTP or cloud, without losing access to recordings already archived under the previous setup. Playback and download continue to work from whichever storage each recording was archived to.

API and database changes

This release does not introduce any new API or database changes beyond what shipped in 14.11.0. If you enable Informix CRA enrichment for UCCX, the enriched wrap-up, call-variable, hold-time, and queue data uses the same fields that already exist today.

Upgrade impact

  • Follow the VRS Upgrade Guide from 14.11.0 to 14.12.0 to back up your settings and database, update to the new version, and confirm supervisor team membership is set up correctly.

  • After upgrading, supervisors will see Operations Dashboard metrics only for their own team instead of the whole contact center — confirm team membership is set up correctly beforehand.

  • For UCCX, turn on Informix CRA enrichment only if your deployment uses Informix CRA.

  • Optional: choose a compression level for new recordings. See Recording Compression — Operator Guide for setup steps.

  • Optional: set up archival to SFTP or S3-compatible cloud storage. See Archival Service for setup steps.

Release Test Highlights

Tested With

  • This release has been tested with Cisco CUCM version 12.5, Cisco UCCE 12.6.2, Cisco UCCX 15, and EFCX 5.13 (general recording and Media Recordings flows for EFCX). The Operations Dashboard and call tagging apply to Cisco only and were formally tested on UCCE and UCCX. They are not available on EFCX.

  • The solution has been tested with the MSSQL database and with PostgreSQL 14+.

  • For Cisco deployment, Cisco Jabber (v15.2.3.61008) devices are configured as agent phones.

  • Calls have been tested using real mobile devices, routing through Cisco Finesse.

  • On Cisco UCCE and UCCX, testing covered normal inbound/outbound calls as well as transfer, conference, and supervisor monitor/barge-in recording behavior, in addition to Media Recordings search/playback flows.

  • The VRS Web Application has been tested on Google Chrome (v152.0.x).

Not tested with

  • The solution has not been tested with SQL databases other than MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

  • High Availability (HA) deployment is not tested in this version.

  • Calls have not been tested with Cisco IPC phones.

  • Load testing has not been conducted for VRS.
